Several popular dietary supplements, including Jack3d and OxyElite Pro, are being investigated by the United States Army after two soldiers who used the products had heart attacks and died while exercising.
The supplements, which are available to the public online and in health stores, contain an ingredient called DMAA (dimethylamylamine), which is advertised to boost energy, metabolism, and concentration.

In response to the soldiers' deaths and reports of others who've suffered from these side effects, the United States Defense Department has removed all products containing DMAA from military bases pending the results of its investigation.
