USA Today reports that the anti-smoking drug Chantix is still recommended by the government despite the risk for drug injury.
Though the drug has been recently linked to drug injuries such as depression and suicidal behavior, it is still being recommended to patients who want to quit smoking.
The government’s guidelines for doctors for the use of Chantix in treatment of patients who want to quit smoking also suggests counseling to help prevent the drug injury risks recently associated with Chantix.
Chantix could pose risks for potential Texas drug injuries.
