The FDA reported that Roxane Laboratories, Inc. has recalled Sodium Polystyrene Sulfate Suspension, a product used for the treatment of hyperkalemia due to potential for drug injury.
The affected lots of Sodium Polystyrene Sulfate Suspension have been found to have a strain of yeast in them which could cause drug injuries to immunocompromised patients.
This product could cause drug injuries related to a yeast infection such as thrush, skin rash, and blood infections.
Sodium Polystyrene Sulfate Suspension containing the yeast could cause Texas drug injuries for immunocompromised patients.
