Epilepsy can be a life-altering and debilitating disease; fortunately, medications like phenobarbitol help control epilepsy so that quality of life for patients can be improved.

However, epilepsy medications may be linked to drug injuries such as infertility, according to Live Science.

At this point, it is unclear whether the drug injury, an increased rate of infertility, is associated with anti-seizure medications phenobarbitol or phenytoin or the severity of epilepsy. More research is needed to determine the true cause of the drug injury.
