An auto accident killed three people when the driver of a vehicle broke through the arms of a railroad crossing Saturday, according to WFTV.

The auto accident occurred when the 22-year-old male driver drove his 1994 Buick through the safety arms of a railroad crossing and collided with an Amtrak train carrying 167 passengers.

The driver and two passengers in the Buick were killed in the auto accident. Another injured passenger was in serious condition following the crash.

The Buick was traveling at 55 mph at the time of the auto accident. The speed limit on the street is 40 mph.

Many of the passengers on the Amtrak were returning from Thanksgiving.
