A drug used to treat narcolepsy and sharpen mental skills may be linked to drug injuries such as addiction, according to HealthDay News.
The drug Modafinil (Provigil) has been used to treat narcolepsy, but now researches think that the drug may cause drug injuries such as addiction because it may alter dopamine in the brain.
The study shows that Modafinil may work more similarly to drugs such as methylphenidate, which is used to treat Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
Texas patients who take Modafinil could be at risk for Texas drug injuries such as addiction.
