Two people have died as a result of a Fort Worth Motorcycle Accident this past week. According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the fatalities bumped the total number of motorcyclists killed during the recent week to four.

The incident occurred Tuesday evening along Sycamore School Road, near Colfax Lane. The 42-year-old driver of the motorcycle carrying a 37-year-old female passenger was heading east along the road when an SUV suddenly turned off of Colfax in front of the bike. The motorcyclist did not have time to stop the machine and plowed into the rear of the SUV. Both occupants of the motorcycle were declared dead at a local hospital shortly after arrival, while the driver of the SUV was uninjured. It is not clear whether either occupant of the motorcycle was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Experts say if the number of motorcycle accidents continues to rise at the pace they currently are, it can be expected that the number of motorcycle accident fatalities will far exceed the total of 279 deaths that were recorded in 2011.

The Texas Personal Injury Attorneys with Ferrer Poirot Feller encourage motorists and motorcyclists alike to be more aware of one another when traveling on Texas roadways as the weather begins to warm. Doing so may prevent an accident and could possibly save a life.
